God's Super-Duper Gift!

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift 1 of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)

God's Super-Duper Gift!

Imagine it's your birthday! You've been hoping and wishing for a super-duper, extra-special toy. Maybe a robot that dances or a sparkly unicorn that talks! You've been really good, helping with chores and being kind to your friends.

Now, imagine someone gives you that exact toy, the one you wanted most! You didn't buy it yourself; you didn't even earn it. It was a gift! That feeling of surprise and happiness? That's a little bit like God's grace.

The Bible, which is like God's special book of stories and lessons, tells us that God loves us very, very much. So much that He wants us to be His friends forever! But sometimes, we make mistakes. We do things that aren't kind or helpful.

God knows we can't be perfect on our own. So, He gave us a super-duper gift called "grace."

What is Grace?

Grace is like a free pass to God's love! Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us: "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift 1 of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."

It's a gift. Just like your birthday present, God's grace is something He gives us because He loves us, not because we earned it.

It comes through faith. Faith is like believing in God and trusting that He loves us and will take care of us. It's like knowing your parents will always be there for you, even when you make mistakes.

It's not about being perfect. God doesn't expect us to be perfect. He knows we will make mistakes. Grace is His way of saying, "I love you anyway!"

No Boasting. God wants us to know that this gift is from Him, so we can thank him, and not brag about ourselves.

Jesus, God's Special Gift of Grace

God showed us His amazing grace by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth. Jesus lived a perfect life and then, because He loves us so much, he took the punishment for all of our mistakes. Believing in Jesus is how we receive God's grace. When we believe in Jesus, we are showing our faith in God's incredible gift. He is God's greatest gift to us.

How Do We Get Grace?

We can't buy grace or earn it. We simply accept it with a thankful heart. We can thank God for His love and try our best to be kind and loving to others.

Think about it:

Have you ever received a gift that made you feel really happy?

How does it make you feel to know that God loves you even when you make mistakes?

How does it make you feel to know that believing in Jesus helps us receive God's grace?

How can you thank God for his gift of grace?

God's grace is like a warm hug from Him. It's His way of showing us how much He loves us!

A Prayer for Little Hearts

Dear God,

Thank you for your amazing grace, your super-duper gift of love. Thank you for sending Jesus to be our friend. Please help us to believe in You and to trust that You love us very much. Help us to be kind and loving to others, just like Jesus. We love you, God.

Amen.
