Have you ever played hide-and-seek? It's so much fun to try and find your friends, right? But what if someone was always watching, even when you thought you were perfectly hidden?
The Bible tells us about someone who always sees us, no matter where we are! That someone is God. He's like a super-watcher, but in a good way! He loves us so much that He pays attention to everything we do.
Let's look at a special verse from the Bible. It's from a version called the Amplified Bible, and it helps us understand God's love even better.
Genesis 16:13 (AMP)
"So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, 'You are God Who sees [me]'; for she said, 'Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him [who sees me]?"
What does this mean?
This verse is about a woman named Hagar. She was feeling sad and alone. But God saw her, and He spoke to her! Hagar realized that God knew exactly what she was going through. She said, "You are God Who sees me!"
Let's break it down:
"God Who sees [me]"
This means God sees everything about you! He sees when you're happy, sad, scared, or excited. He knows what you're thinking and feeling.
"Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him [who sees me]?"
Hagar was amazed that God cared about her. She felt like she had seen God face-to-face, even though she didn't see Him with her eyes. She felt safe and comforted knowing that God was watching over her.
Why is this important for you?
You're never alone: Even when you feel like nobody understands you, God does! He's always there, watching and caring for you.
God cares about your feelings: Just like He cared about Hagar's feelings, He cares about yours too. You can talk to Him about anything!
God knows everything: He knows when you do good things and when you make mistakes. He wants to help you learn and grow.
Imagine this:
Imagine you're playing outside, and you fall and scrape your knee. You might feel a little sad and scared. But God sees you, and He sends you comfort. Maybe He sends a friend to help you, or maybe He helps you feel brave enough to clean your scrape.
Remember, God is always watching, not to make you feel scared, but because He loves you very much! He's the God who sees you, always!
Time to Think!
Let's think a little more about how amazing it is that God sees us.
Have you ever felt like no one understood how you were feeling? How does it make you feel knowing God always sees you?
Can you think of a time when you felt like God helped you, even if you couldn't see Him?
How can you talk to God when you feel happy, sad, or scared?
If God sees everything, how can you show him that you love him too?
What is one thing you are thankful that God sees in you?
A Prayer for Little Hearts
Dear God,
Thank you for being the God who sees me. Thank you for knowing everything about me, even the things I don't tell anyone else.
Please help me to remember that I'm never alone, because you're always with me. Help me to talk to you when I'm happy, sad, or scared.
Please help me to be kind and loving, because I know you see everything I do. Help me to show you that I love you too, by being good and helpful.
Thank you for loving me so much.
Amen.
