Scripture: Luke 15:4 (NIV) – “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?”
"God Will Always Come Looking for You"
Devotional for Kids:
Have you ever lost your favorite toy or your pet wandered off? You probably searched high and low until you found it. That’s how much it meant to you, right?
Jesus once told a story about a shepherd who had 100 sheep. One day, one little sheep wandered off. The shepherd didn’t just say, “Oh well, I still have 99!” No way! He left the 99 sheep in a safe place and went looking everywhere for that one lost sheep.
Why? Because every sheep matters. And guess what? You matter even more to God!
This parable teaches us that God loves each of us so much. Even if we mess up or feel far away from Him, He never gives up on us. He comes looking for us with love and joy. And when He finds us, there is a big celebration in heaven!
What Can I Do Today?
Here are 3 simple ways you can live out this lesson:
Talk to God Every Day
Just like the lost sheep needs to hear the shepherd’s voice, you need to stay close to God. You can do this by praying—even if it's just saying, “Hi God, I love You!” He loves hearing from you.
Be Kind to Others Who Feel Left Out
Is there someone in your class or playground who seems lonely? Be the one to say hello or ask them to play. God wants us to care about others just like He cares for us.
Don’t Be Afraid to Say Sorry
If you make a mistake, don’t hide. God already knows and still loves you. Just say sorry and try again. God always welcomes you back with open arms.

Think About It:
Have you ever felt alone or like you’ve made a mistake?
Remember, God is always looking for you because He loves you more than anything.
A Prayer for a Little Heart:
Dear God,
Thank You for loving me no matter what. Thank You for always looking for me when I feel lost or far from You. Help me to remember that I am never alone because You are always with me. Amen.
Activity Ideas:
Draw a picture of a sheep with your name on it.
Hang it on your wall to remind yourself: “I am special to God, and He will always find me!”
Sheep Search Game 🐑
Ask a parent or sibling to hide a paper sheep around the house. Pretend to be the shepherd and go on a “search” to find it!
Afterward, talk about how happy God is when we come back to Him—just like the shepherd was when he found his lost sheep.
